![]() ![]() Gal Gadot’s portrayal of Wonder Woman is widely regarded as one of the few things that the original DC Extended Universe got right, so it would be a shame if we were to lose her in the future. It has been speculated that Gadot will indeed reprise her role for the first time since 2020’s Wonder Woman 1984 in Shazam! Fury of the Gods after a series of trailers and TV spots for the DCEU movie featured a character with gauntlets and boots exactly like the wonderous hero. If this is the case, then it’s shaping up to be the character’s second appearance this year. Thus, the fact that the Amazonian Warrior is with them is a strong indicator that Gadot’s cameo in The Flash has actually remained intact. There are also Funko Pop figures for The Flash, General Zod, Iris West, Supergirl, and both the Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck versions of Batman, all of whom are confirmed to appear in the movie. Nevertheless, it seems that the question marks around the character’s immediate future are somewhat premature. It was subsequently reported that Gal Gadot’s cameo as the character in the upcoming The Flash movie had been scrapped (along with Henry Cavill’s Superman), throwing the character’s future into doubt – reinforced by the fact that the first chapter of Gunn and Safran’s DCU slate doesn’t involve any Wonder Woman project. ![]() One project cancelled in the midst of all that was Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman 3. And the biggest changes of all have been happening on the cinematic front, as new chairmen and CEOs of DC Studios, James Gunn and Peter Safran, reshape the DC Universe. If you want to throw the unceremonious cancellation of some of The CW’s DC programming in there too, then you can say it’s been a year of change. The past six months have been a time of change for DC and Warner Bros. Wonder Woman’s future in the DC Universe is currently up in the air but it appears that she will be making at least two more appearances. ![]()
